Yippie, its Zippie
Oh, the joy's of having Zip. Like hippynomics, zippies never made a dime out of peace, love and cyberdelia, but they did get a mention or two in the press. About 2000 headlines and my favourite, this cartoon.
Infamous "Here come the Zippies" Wired Cover
The infamous Wired Magazine cover that announced the arrival of a supertechnotribe that was decades before its time. Needless to say, the 15 club kids who participated in the media prank were consumed by American's wanting some sixties nolstolgia in an electronic format. As with the death of Hippie in 1967, Zippie, the much-beloved child of the media was quickly killed off. Needless to say, hippies kept on doing what they did, for the next two decades, just as today's Facebook and Myspace Zippies are bound to follow dystany.
